Murder charge leveled at Ada man

Ada — ADA — An Ada man is charged with murder after allegedly causing a fatality wreck while driving under the influence of alcohol.

The charge of second-degree murder was filed in Pontotoc County district court against 31-year-old Fernando Rojas. According to a probable cause affidavit filed by Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Robert Benedict, Rojas had a blood alcohol level nearly four times the legal limit when he caused a one-vehicle wreck at the intersection of U.S. 377 and County Road 1590 three miles south of Ada last Sunday that killed a passenger in the vehicle.
