County employee pay due discussion

Ada — The Pontotoc County Commission will continue its discussion of the pay scale for county employees at the commission’s Oct. 29 meeting.

The commissioners tabled approving payroll Monday until a decision could be made on how county employees’ salaries are determined. Commissioners said they were concerned after an elected county official gave a promotion and raise to an employee who had only been employed by the county for a few months. The employee was promoted to the position to fill a vacancy.
