Challenge delays board's ruling on Arbuckle-Simpson Aquifer

Faced with a legal challenge, the Oklahoma Water Resources Board has postponed its decision on a proposed maximum annual yield from the Arbuckle-Simpson Aquifer.

The board was set to consider the proposed maximum annual yield (MAY) today, but the item was pulled from the agenda after the Oklahoma State Supreme Court blocked action on the issue last week, OWRB spokesman Bryan Vance said Monday. 

He said the court will hear oral arguments from both sides at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 31 in Oklahoma City.
