NORMAN —
One quirk in Oklahoma's schedule begins on Saturday against Baylor.
The Sooners will face the Bears, West Virginia and Oklahoma State in successive games.
That would seem to help OU's defense in terms of preparation. All three opponents run no-huddle, spread offenses.
OU coach Bob Stoops believes the overlap won't kick in until after the Baylor game.
"These guys are much different than West Virginia and Oklahoma State. West Virginia and Oklahoma State are very much alike," he said on Wednesday.
So, does that mean playing the Mountaineers on Nov. 17 gives OU a leg up preparing for the Nov. 24 Bedlam game at Owen Field?
"It doesn't hurt," Stoops said.
