Ada —  

Charity volleyball tournament

scheduled for Saturday

ADA — A charity 3-on-3 volleyball tournament is scheduled for this Saturday (May 5) at the Ada Elks Lodge .

Entry fee is $15 per player and substitutes. Sign up will begin at 9 a.m. and first serve will take place at 10 a.m. All proceeds will go to benefit the March of Dimes.

Hard Rock Tournament

takes place Sunday (May 6)

ADA — The Ada Tennis Club will once again sponsor the Hardrock Tennis Tournament on Sunday, May 6 at the Ada Tennis Center. 

The tournament pairs experienced with less experienced players by a random draw. Each team will be guaranteed two matches.

The coveted Hardrock trophies will be awarded to Men’s and Women’s champions and runners-up in both the main draw and the consolation brackets. Players need to report to the Ada Tennis Center (located on South Cradduck) by 1 p.m. Play will begin after the draw and continue until completion of the tournament.

Players need to bring rackets and one can of new tennis balls. Entry fee is $5 which also enrolls players in the Ada Tennis Club and makes them eligible for the Ada City Open tournament in June.

 

Eccentric Duffer announces

2012 Summer Schedule

ADA — The Eccentric Duffer announces it’s 2012 Summer Schedule.

Weather permitting, the course opens at 8 a.m. and closes near dark.

Couples Scrambles are scheduled Mondays at 6 p.m. (beginning May 7); Men’s Scrambles are Tuesdays at 8:30 a.m.; and “Just for Fun” Women’s Scramble are Tuesdays at 6 p.m.

The driving range is open when the course is open.

Oklahoma Jitterbugs 

to host softball day camp

BETHANY — The Oklahoma Jitterbugs 18 Gold fastpitch softball team is hosting a softball day camp Saturday, May 5 at Sports Plus, located at 50th and Council Road in Bethany.

Cost of the camp, open to girls ages 12 and under, is $35 per camper.

Roff pitcher Taylor Canida and catcher Casey Kelley are members of the Jitterbugs team.

Ada High chooses 

Foxwood Sports for schedules

ADA — Ada High School has granted Foxwood Sports the exclusive rights to produce full color sport schedules and other merchandise products for the school. 

 Foxwood Sports will be obtaining community sponsorships to benefit the Ada High School Athletic Department. Any other company attempting to obtain sponsors for a like project is doing so without the school’s permission.
