PTC superintendent to retire after 42 years of service

Ada —  

Greg Pierce, superintendent of Pontotoc Technology Center and active member of the Ada community, will retire Dec. 31, after 42 years in education and 20 years leading Pontotoc Tech Center. 

During his years with PTC, Pierce has been active on many different committees that have helped direct planning for the school.

He devoted his guidance and support to making the staff, career majors, and business and industry training an intregal part of the Ada area. 

Pierce has seen PTC expand not only its facilities but also training, including fire service training for rural fire departments along with a firefighter academy to train new firefighters. Area business and industries have also benefited through many opportunities with state-funded Existing Industry and TIP (Training for Industry Program) grants.
