Cranford Scholarship Award

Ada —

East Central University cheerleader Alicia Shakelford (center) is recognized during homecoming festivities with the James and Glenna Cranford $2,000 Scholarship Award. The award, which is given annually at Homecoming to a member of the ECU cheerleading squad, was established by James Cranford in memory of his wife, Glenna, a former ECU cheerleader. James passed away this past summer and the award was renamed in honor of both James and Glenna. Presenting the award was James and Glenna’s son, Mike Cranford (second from right). Also pictured are ECU cheer and dance coach Jill Clark (far left), ECU President John R. Hargrave (second from left) and ECU Foundation Director Phyllis Danley (far right).  Shakelford is a junior from Savanna.
