Courageous conference scheduled

ADA — CMN Worldwide presents Central Oklahoma Courageous Conference, hosted by Crosspointe Church, April 27-28.

The Central Oklahoma Courageous Conference is the first of its kind. This is a men’s conference and women’s conference combined. Breakout sessions specific to men and women are scheduled. Conference speakers are Paul and Judi Cole of Christian Men’s Network and Shawn and Jennifer Wiebers of Crosspointe Church. Shawn Wiebers is pastor of the church.

Courageous Conference schedule is Friday, April 27, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 28, from 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

Cost is $25 for individuals, $35 per couple, students ages 12-18 are free. Childcare is provided.

Ladies breakfast set April 21

ADA — College Heights Baptist Church Ladies plan a Christian fellowship and breakfast Saturday, April 21, at 10 a.m. at the church. College Heights is located at 927 E 7th St. in Ada.  For more information, phone Pat at 421-6556.

 

Chili championship set April 21

ADA — St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, located at 17th and Broadway, hosts a chili championship at the church Saturday, April 21, from 5-7 p.m.  The event also includes competition in  corn bread and dessert categories. Awards will be presented.

Tickets are on sale at the door and the event is open to the public.

Proceeds go to benefit The Ada Boys and Girls Club. 

 

Gospel singing set at local church

HAPPYLAND — Happyland Free Will Baptist Church hosts a gospel singing at 7 p.m. Friday. The church is located eight miles east of Ada on state Highway 1.

 

Allen nursing home hosts singing

ALLEN — A gospel singing takes place at 2 p.m. Friday at Woodland Hills Nursing Home in Allen.

 

Local church hosts food ministry

ADA — Philemon Baptist Church, 3101 Ware Drive, conducts a food ministry program Saturday, April 21, from 10 a.m. until noon. For more information, phone 332-2063.

 

Garage sale to benefit youth group

ADA — St. Joseph Catholic Church youth group conducts a garage sale Saturday, April 21, 2012, from 8 a.m. until noon in Benedictine Hall at 1300 East Beverly. Proceeds from the sale assist the youth attending Steubenville Youth Conference in July.

There is an assortment of items for sale, including furniture, appliances, kitchen items, home decorations, books, toys, bedding and lots of miscellaneous items.

Weatherfords in concert at local church

DOLBERG — The Weatherfords are appearing in a gospel music concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, at Dolberg Baptist Church. The church is located four miles west of Roff.

The event is open to the public.
