Stratford —
Grace Christian Fellowship recently held a quarterly youth-led Sunday service.
The church leaders strongly believe in mentoring and developing the members of its church into self-actualized ministers in the church starting with the youth. College minister Spencer Cody team-preached a sermon on Forgiveness with youth-member Jacob Greene, a Byng student, and Ariel Speers, a student at East Central University.
“Forgiveness is a very pointed subject according to the Bible," said Spencer. "When Jesus explains to his disciples how to pray, one of the main points is the necessity to ask for forgiveness from God the father as they are practicing forgiveness with the people they know. Jesus went as far as to say that people who don’t forgive will not be forgiven to stress the necessity of forgiving one another.
To illustrate the lifestyle, Speers told a story of the rubber duck and the water drop. “When the water hits the duck, it rolls of its back,” she said. “We should be like the duck when something comes our way, and instead of dwelling on the wrong, we should let it go like that water that rolled off the duck's back.”
Grace Christian Fellowship is located next to Starskate and meets Sunday mornings at 10:30 for the main worship service.
