Frances “Aleene” Knight

Services for Frances “Aleene” Knight, 91, of Norman, formerly of the Roff area, are 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Roff First Baptist Church, Rev. Tony Folger will officiate. Burial will follow at East Hill Cemetery in Roff.

Mrs. Knight died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at a Norman hospital. She was born March 15, 1921, at Laxton, Okla., to Robert Jones “Bob” and Callie Hollis Morgan Simpson. 

She married Cecil Odell Knight on October 25, 1941. He preceded her in death on February 11, 1985. Mrs. Knight was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include a son, James R. Knight, Ada; two daughters, Mary N. Jones and husband Jim, Oklahoma City, and Kay Thompson and husband Arlie, Norman; four grandchildren, Gayla Thornton and husband Dennis, Ada, Kristi Loeliger and husband Dan, Edmond, Jeff Thompson and wife Melissa, Norman, and Cheryl Brown and husband James, Tuttle; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Joy Deemer and husband Norman, Seminole, and Robbie Dutton, Whitesboro, Texas, and other loving relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Blanche Simpson; and two brothers, Harold Simpson and an infant brother; two grandsons, Dana Jones and Justin Thompson; and a granddaughter, Sabrina Knight.

Bearers will be Jim Jones, Arlie Thompson, Dennis Thornton, James Brown, Mark Brown, and Dan Loeliger.
