Graveside service for Charles R. Martin, 83, Ada, is 10 .a.m. Friday, April 27, 2012, at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada. Officiating is the Rev. James Williams.
Public viewing is 1-8 p.m. at Smith-Phillips Funeral Home.
Mr. Martin died Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at an Ada nursing center. He was born Aug. 5, 1928, in Center to Jesse Martin and Gladys Asselstine Martin.
He married Loretta Roundtree on Feb 13, 1954, in the Wilson Community.
Mr. Martin graduated from Vanoss High School in Vanoss in 1946. He was a lifelong resident of the Ada area, served in the United States Army, worked as a bulldozer operator for many years, and attended the Faith Assembly in Ada.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta Martin of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Daniel Jones, Ada, and Kim and Steve Samford, Hensley, Ark.; two brothers; three sisters; three grandchildren, Jeremy Guffey and wife Meredith, Jacob Jones, and Sarah Jones; and four great-grandchildren, Jace, Jaiden, Race, and Colton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
