Services for Winford Eugene “Gene” Henderson, 78, Ada, are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Center Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Earl Hood officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mr. Henderson died Friday, March 15, 2013, at his home. He was born Nov. 6, 1934, to Paul Ray and Velma Lane Henderson at Allen. He attended Egypt and Latta schools. He served 20 years in the United States Navy in the aviation, metalsmith and hydraulics areas. He was affiliated with the Baptist church.

He and Joy Katherine Link were married Oct. 21, 1957.

Survivors include his wife, Joy, of the home; two daughters, Darla Wilson and Tonya Kaapke, Ada; one son, Winford Eugene Henderson Jr. and wife Sandra, Stratford; two brothers, Don Henderson and Jerry Henderson, Ada; one sister, Geraldine Carroll, Edmond; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Olan Henderson; a sister, Ethelyene Golden; and three grandsons, Nathan Henderson, Caleb Henderson and J.P.Hulsey.

Bearers are grandsons Brendan Levingston, Buck Haines, Jason Haines, Joshua Haines, Kenny Levingston and Spencer Treat.
