Clate Hillman

Services for Clayton Monroe “Clate” Hillman, 44, Ada, are 10 a.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Bob Payne officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery. The family is receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home. 

Mr. Hillman died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, near Ada. He was born Jan. 17, 1968, in Ada to Larry “Butch” and Donna Van Zant Hillman.

He attended Latta grade school and graduated from Latta High School in 1986. He received a degree in criminal justice from East Central University. Mr. Hillman had served as a deputy sheriff and previously was employed at Flex-N-Gate as a forklift operator.

Survivors include a daughter, Jamie Grace Hillman, Ada; his mother, Donna Hillman, Ada; a sister, Toni Hillman, Ada; two uncles, Gary Van Zant, Ada, and Joe Hillman and his wife, Rhonda, Tecumseh; and four aunts, Stevene Mullinax, Betty Hunt, Mary Jo Hillman, all of Ada, and Barbara Shahan and her husband, Carroll, of Fitzhugh.

Bearers are Aaron Dial, Ted Glover Jr., Kevin Conn, Ron Hillman, Jon Hillman and Clyde Cabler.
