Mary Alice Pennington

Ada —  

Funeral services for Mary Alice Pennington of Ada will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at Southwest Church of Christ in Ada. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Ada. Officiating will be Mr. Floyd Kaiser and assisting will be Mr. Ray Fulenwider.  

Mrs. Pennington passed away Monday, July 30, 2012, at her residence in Ada.

She was born March 2, 1934, in Lehigh to Boswell Hampton and Lulu Alice Flahaut Hampton. She married C.Z. Pennington in 1966 in Branson, Mo.  

Mrs. Pennington was a member of the Pontotoc County Home Extension and a lifetime member of the Eastern Star. She was a longtime resident of Ada, a homemaker and a member of the Southwest Church of Christ in Ada. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Pennington is survived by three sons, Marvin Tarron and wife, Penny, of Tahlequah, Darrell Tarron of Ada and Raymond Tarron and wife, Sue, of Ada; one daughter, Judy McGrit of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Harrell Hampton and wife, LaGene, of North Carolina and Jerry Wayne Holland and wife, Georgia, of Marietta; two sisters, Ann Fulenwider and husband, Ray, of Texas and Janet Hendrix and husband, Charlie, of Lehigh; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, C.Z. Pennington; her parents, Boswell and Lulu Hampton; and one sister, Virginia Rundle.

Bearers: Fred Allen, Chad Lamb, Roger Cosby, Wylie Shumard, Don Hill and Jerry Fleming.

Honorary bearer: Dusty Dennis.
