Dorothy Bailey

Services for Dorothy Ann Bailey, 83, of the Francis area, are at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating is her son, the Rev. Richard Bailey, assisted by the Rev. Jimmy Hoffman. Burial follows at Oakman Cemetery.

Mrs. Bailey died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, near Francis. She was born Jan. 16, 1929, near Francis, to Jacob Hughie and Ola Mae Whisenant Horn. She attended Cedar Grove school and graduated from Francis High School.

She married Ted C. Bailey on May 23, 1947. He died July 22, 2003. Mrs. Bailey was a homemaker. She was active in the Homemakers Club, Trappers, Pontotoc County Fair and Pontotoc County Election Board. She was a longtime member of Homer Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Beverly Bailey, Tulsa, Richard and Cinda Bailey, Allen, and Joe and Debra Bailey, Allen; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Ken Compton, Calvin, and Virginia and Ervin Holcomb, Allen; 17 grandchildren, Annette Valentino, Alyse Bailey, Rick Bailey, Rob Bailey, Ryan Bailey, Lacy Chandler, Kristi Libich, Jonathan Bailey, John Stovall, Karen Jones, Steven Stovall, Matt Maxwell, Tim Wilson, John Wilson, Eric Holcomb, Toby Holcomb and Mallory Hays; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ted; brothers, Bob Horn and Alfred Horn; sisters, Ruth Bottoms and Lillian Kidwell; and grandsons, Randy Stovall and Jonathon Stovall.

Bearers are her grandsons, Rick Bailey, Rob Bailey, Ryan Bailey, Jonathan Bailey, John Wilson, Tim Wilson, Matt Maxwell, Steven Stovall and John Stovall.
