Truck, car collision sends one to hospital

Ada —

A 25-year-old city woman was taken to OU Medical Center Thursday for injuries she sustained in a two-vehicle accident.

Lea Newsome was coming off 32nd Street and failed to yield on Cradduck. The passenger side of her 2001 Impala was hit by a one-ton pickup truck driven by Lyndon Flinn, 50, also of Ada.

Ada police officer John Parker said it was a full impact collision. "Mr. Flinn didn't have time to react or try to slow down or stop."

The impact carried both vehicles off the roadway. Parker said he did not know the extent of Newsome's injuries, but said she was stablized a Valley View before being taken to OU Medical Center. She will be cited for failure to yield. Flinn was not injured.
