Roff —
The Lady Tigers battled out of an early 9-2 hole and then found themselves trailing 28-20 midway through the second quarter before once again staging a rally.
Roff was clinging to a 44-42 lead in the final seconds of the third period before Sarah Gross hit a 13-foot jumper off a feed from Jalee Hood that started an impressive 15-4 run to end the game.
The Lady Tigers limited Alex to 1-of-9 shooting in the final period.
“I was really proud of our girls effort,” said Roff head coach Scott Morgan.
“In the fourth quarter we finally attacked the bucket hard with our heads up, and found open cutters. We also buckled down and played inspired defense in the fourth quarter,” he said. “I can’t say enough about these girls courage.”
The Lady Tigers, now 15-12 on the year, will meet Elmore City-Pernell tonight at 6:30 p.m. in a regional game at Lindsay.
