Jennings wins in first trip to Big Mac

Aaliyah Blakley and her teammates made sure Christie Jennings had a successful debut against rival McAlester Tuesday night inside the not-so-friendly confines of the Bob Brumley Gymnasium.

Blakley scored 30 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for an impressive double-double and nearly outscored the entire McAlester team by herself in Ada’s 44-30 victory.

And the game really wasn’t as close as the score might indicate.

The Lady Cougars led by 21 (43-22) after Blakley’s final basket with 4:33 remaining before the Lady Buffaloes scored six of the final seven points of the contest.

  • Cougar Composers Cougars coach takes no chances

    At approximately 2:30 p.m. Wednesday the Ada Cougars headed up to the soccer field for practice. At 2:50 they headed back down the hill and to the safety of ‘The Dunham’ the huge indoor practice facility. Lightning had been recorded some 14 miles west and head coach Matt Weber was taking no chances.
