Tishomingo —
In a battle between two Top 10 teams, the Byng Lady Pirates used stellar defense and good ball distribution to escape Tishomingo with a solid 48-41 road win Tuesday night.
"It was a great win. These are two really good teams,” said Byng head coach Matt Fike. “This was a challenge for us defensively. Tishomingo has tough post play, and they are a real threat from 3-point range. I was extremely proud of the way our girls fought. Our guard play was outstanding.”
In the boys contest, the visiting Pirates proved to be too hot for Tishomingo in a convincing 56-31 win.
