Ada —
Twas the night before Christmas and all through the land,
many were hoping for gifts from a jolly old man.
The Oklahoma City Thunder wanted a win on Christmas day.
But the Miami Heat will be no easy prey.
Still the Thunder had the best record in the NBA.
Who would have thunk it after trading Harden away.
The Los Angeles Lakers already had many gifts in hand,
but even with Dwight and Nash, things weren't going as planned.
It was easy to see what Ada girls coach Christie Jennings was hoping for.
She didn't want her Lady Cougars to play No. 1 teams any more.
The East Central Lady Tigers have looked good so far.
At 8-2, coach Franz's team has really raised the bar.
Who can forget about Latta's unbeaten boys team.
Coach Donnie Husband has them playing with a full head of steam.
The Dallas Cowboys want an NFL playoff berth really bad.
But Drew Brees and RGIII just might make Romo and company sad.
Another great Mid-America Classic tournament is near.
Some of the top girls teams around are expected to be here.
You don't want to miss out, there will be great games to see.
Come find out who will win this year's Bertha Teague trophy.
The college bowl games have kicked off and are in full stride.
Looking forward to watching Notre Dame take down the Tide.
It's the Sooners versus the Heisman in the Cotton Bowl.
Here's hoping the long break will make A&M grow cold.
The Cowboys got demoted to an ugly bowl game.
If they lost to lousy Purdue, it would be a big shame.
James Myers got lucky to win a 2012 Prediction crown.
Yours truly made some awful picks at the end that even made Leo Kelley frown.
As I end this Christmas column, I think I should point out.
I'm the youngest in the Ada News newsroom, there is no doubt.
But I have great coworkers, even though they're a bit old.
I wouldn't trade a one of them, they're all as good as gold.
Thanks to all my readers, your support I hold dear.
Merry Christmas to you all and a Happy New Year.

Upon entering ‘The Dunham’ — the Ada Cougars’ indoor practice facility — one wondered who the quarterback in the white T-shirt running plays on the far end may be. His moves are familiar. Perhaps a big No. 6 on his back would help.
