Chase leads to Byars man's arrest

Pickett —  

Law enforcement arrested a Byars man Wednesday after he allegedly ran a Pontotoc County sheriff’s deputy off a highway.

Stephen Logan George, 41, Byars, was arrested in Garvin County after a pursuit which began in Pickett shortly after 1 p.m. Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Deputy Tyler Mackey was returning from a call when he was allegedly forced off state Highway 19 by a speeding car.
