Dorian Michael to peform in Ada

Ada — ADA — Contemporary guitarist Dorian Michael will be performing an acoustic show Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 6 p.m. at Ada Public Library.  The performance is free and open to the public.

“Some music makes you feel, some makes you think and some music is just for the fun of it.  I try to get to all those places in the space of a performance,” said Michael.

He started playing guitar at age 7. He has developed his skills over time and has been a working guitarist for four decades.  Michael refers to his solo music as “contemporary traditional,” original music that reflects his interest in a number of styles of music.  He has played rock and roll, jazz, blues and folk music in places from smokey honky-tonks to theater orchestra pits.  Performing in mainly the U.S. and Canada, Michael plays his own solo fingerstyle instruments and also plays other artist’s pieces as well.
