City council to interview five for CM job

Ada —

Ada is moving closer to hiring a new city manager.

The Ada City Council will interview five candidates for the position during a closed session, which is set to begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at City Hall. Following the closed session, the council may direct city staff to negotiate a contract with the new city manager.

“It is a possibility that we may possibly start moving forward on Saturday,” Mayor Greg McCortney said Tuesday.

He said he expected the interviews to take all day.

The city is looking for someone to replace former City Manager David Heathcoat, who stepped down earlier this year. Cody Holcomb is serving as interim city manager until Heathcoat’s replacement is found.
