Ada —
The Ada City Council discussed the employment of the city manager during a closed session on Monday but did not take action.
The city has hired consultant Larry Shelton, who works with the Norman-based consulting firm Chell Consulting LLC, to assist in developing recruitment materials for the city manager’s position. Other tasks will include recruiting candidates, screening them to eliminate unqualified applicants and helping the city draw up a list of candidates.
City officials are seeking someone to replace former City Manager David Hathcoat, who resigned earlier this year. Cody Holcomb is serving as the interim city manager until Hathcoat’s replacement is found.
Chell Consulting is conducting a thorough analysis of city government, with an eye to boosting efficiency.
Mayor Greg McCortney told the Ada News in August that city officials would like to fill the manager’s slot at about the same time that the report is finished.
