VVRH Auxiliary hosts Christmas party

Ada — The Volunteer Auxiliary of Valley View Regional Hosptial held its annual Christmas Party at noon on Dec. 16 in the classrooms of  the hospital, where members were greeted and welcomed by Auxiliary Director Catharine Choate, and by hospital CEO Kent Rogers and vice president for nursing, Tino Gonzalez, all of whom expressed appreciation to the volunteers for their contribution to the hospital.  In the spirit of the holiday season, members had brought a variety of items being donated to support the needs of the Family Crisis Center.

Following the invocation given by Sue McFerran, those present enjoyed a light lunch, during which vice president for support services, Danny Coats, and other members of the hospital’s medical and administrative staff appeared briefly to express their appreciation for the efforts of the auxiliary.  After lunch, everyone had an opportunity to participate in games and Christmas songs, visit with fellow volunteers, and thank the auxiliary’s social committee for putting on an enjoyable event.  As the party ended, several members left with poinsettias won as door prizes.

Members attending included: Bob Waller, Sue McSwain, Janet Barrett, Clara Dean Doolen, Sue McFerran, Nancy Riggle, D’Esta Hoover, Ric Hord, Dorothy McHord, Lanny Sliger, Chuck Perry, Lois Morgan, Georgia Stewart, Betty Neely, Barbara Sanders, Rita Branscum, Dolores Davis, Gene Davis, Ann Scott, Frieda Carter, Mary Jean Mayhue, Doris Blackburn, Keith Hildreth, Ruth Davidson, Andy Hood, Barbie Moon, Linda Cutler, Ahna Reece, Catharine Choate, Ruby Firsching, Wanda Privett, Demonell Stevenson,  and Donald Ellis.  Hospital professional staff attending included: Kent Rogers, Tino Gonzalez,  Danny Coats, Amanda Moore, Jerod Waters, Liz Klingensmith, Joni Pillow, Stephanie Mowdy and  Judy Short.
