Baby's killer gets life term

Ada —

An Ada man who was convicted of killing his 14-month-old daughter will spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Riley Walker, 20, was sentenced to life without parole during a hearing Monday in Pontotoc County District Court. He has 10 days to decide whether to appeal his conviction.

Walker was charged with first-degree murder in the Oct. 10, 2011, death of his daughter Jalissa L. Walker. The 14-month-old girl was found dead in her bedroom around midnight, and investigators determined that she had died of blunt force trauma to the head.
