47-vote win claimed by challenger

Ada —  

Retired Ada fireman Randy Floyd defeated incumbent District 2 Pontotoc County Commissioner Danny Davis by 47 votes — 661-614 — Tuesday.

Floyd, who now operates a heating and air business in town, was excited about the win and thanked all his supporters for turning out.

"People wanted a change. It was a hard-fought race for both of us," Floyd said. "I am very, very happy.

Davis also thanked his supporters and people who worked long hours to back his re-election bid. He served one term.
