Veteran writer joins Ada News

Ada —  

An award-winning journalist and veteran news reporter has joined the staff of The Ada News.

Eric Swanson, 43, comes to Ada from the Dodge City (KS) Daily Globe where he worked for 15 years covering police, courts, and local government.

He has won awards for spot news coverage, features and for covering government, including the Kansas Legislature.

Swanson grew up in Arvada, Colo., and is a graduate of the University of Kansas with a degree in journalism which he earned in 1992. Upon completion of college, he went to work as a general assignment reporter for the New Town News in New Town, N.D., before moving on to the Cass County Democrat-Missourian. He joined the staff of the Dodge City Daily Globe in August 1996.

“Eric is a good fit for our team and brings a wide range of newspaper experience to The Ada News. It was my pleasure to have worked with Eric at Dodge City, and am I delighted he is joining The Ada News,” Gene Lehmann, managing editor, said.
