62nd annual smorgasbord dinner and bazaar to be held this Sunday

St. Joseph Church, located at 1300 East Beverly, is holding its 62nd annual smorgasbord dinner and bazaar.  

The dinner and bazaar will be held in the parish hall on Sunday, Nov. 4 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and 5-7 p.m.  

Members chairing the committees for this event are Carol Naberhaus, Anne Fine, Pam Catalano, Dana Belcher, Kay Bishop, Kyra Childers, Stephanie Whitney, Angela Todd, Becky McKenzie, Melvin Brooking, Skip and Sue Wilson, Jackye Ward, Jennifer Short, Dan and Ann Zimmerman, Barbie Cranford, Ann Maxwell, Mary and  Tim LaMack, Jim Burke and Martha Kilgore, Pat Hoyle, Debbie Gibson, Julie Welch, Lorraine Childers and Collean Frederickson.  The planning committee members are Gloria Kemp, Jane Ritchie and Roxanne Taylor.

Favorite dishes include the traditional turkey and dressing, ham loaf, Swedish meatballs, broccoli casserole, curried fruit, garlic cheese grits and vegetables.  This year a new salad dish will make its debut at the buffet table. Desserts will include the pumpkin tarts along with chocolate cupcakes and a choice of “just mini desserts”: Cherry Cheesecake and Lemon Cloud will round out the dessert selection.

The bazaar will offer a variety of crafts and homemade baked goods such as candies, cookies, cakes, breads and pies.  The bazaar will be held in one of the classroom. Signs will help direct people to the location. A raffle to win a Kindle Fire HD will be on display. Tickets are $2 each.  Drawing will be held at the end of the evening shift — need not be present to win.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children age 4-10.  For more information contact the parish office at 580-332-4811.
