Ada —
Pontotoc County District Attorney’s office filed charges of assault and battery with a deadly weapon Thursday against an Ada woman wanted in connection with a stabbing last month.
Audrina Danae Tate, 26, has been sought since Aug. 25 in an attack on Brandy Black, 30, during a confrontation in the overnight hours of Aug. 24 and 25. Black was found stabbed and 28-year-old Brian Pogue was found badly beaten when Ada Police Officer Philip Wood stopped a pickup driven by Pogue after it made an improper turn.
Black told Wood she had received a phone call from someone saying Pogue had been beaten by another man, and had gone to the intersection of Ninth and Oak streets where she found Tate driving Pogue’s truck. Black said when she attempted to pull Tate from the truck Tate began stabbing her.
