Judge Landrith to revisit zoning order Thursday

Ada —

A temporary restraining order preventing Pontotoc County commissioners from taking action on a rezoning application will be revisited at 1 p.m. Thursday before District Judge Tom Landrith.

Landrith issued the restraining order Friday in action sought by LegalShield — formerly Pre-Paid Legal — and had said the issue would be revisited on Feb. 25. However, that date would be a month after Ada City Council may move to annex the property into the city limits.

County commissioners have said they may discuss the issue Jan. 22 if Landrith lifts the order, which is the same day Ada council members have scheduled a public hearing on possible annexation.
