Ada High student killed in motorcycle wreck

Ada —  

     An Ada HIgh School football player was killed in a motorcycle wreck Wednesday night.

     Cody N. Johnson was eastbound on state Highway 3W, one mile north of Ada, when his 2006 Yamaha motorcycle struck an unknown object, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. He was wearing a helmet at the time.

     Johnson, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene by Valley View Regional Hospital EMS personnel and taken to Criswell Funeral Home.

    Area residents are invited to participate in a special meeting to discuss lighting and other improvements to Ada’s Main Street to be held Wednesday at Pontotoc Technology Center. According to Bridget Forshay, Citizens Advisory Board Main Street Lighting Committee chairperson, the open forum is a result of Ada’s “Penny for Our City” sales tax.
