4-H ambassadors and teen advisors named

Ada —  

Pontotoc County 4-H Ambassador program offers a great opportunity for younger members to gain leadership skills and better prepare them to participate in leadership roles.  

County Ambassadors must be between 11-13 years old and participate in at least 2 county activities and events yearly.  Candidates were chosen based on their applications, references and interviews.  

The six 4-H members serving in this role for 2012-13 are as follows: 

Sage Counts is a member of the Latta 4-H Club.  Her 4-H projects include horse, public speaking and arts & crafts.  This is her third year as an Ambassador.  She is the daughter of Chad and Jan Counts.

Amanda Daniel is a member of the Homeschool 4-H Club.  Her 4-H projects include food nutrition, public speaking and fabric and fashions.  This is her second year to serve as an ambassador.  She is the daughter of Richard and Mamie Thompson and the late David Daniel.

Destiney Garner is a member of the Roff 4-H Club.  Her projects include public speaking, hobbies and collections, animal science and arts and crafts.  This is Garner’s first year to serve as a 4-H Ambassador.  She is the daughter of Gerald and Barbara Garner. 

Laura Rose is a member of the Vanoss 4-H Club.  Her projects include fabric and fashions, performing arts, animal science and gardening.  This is Rose’s first year to serve as an ambassador.  She is the daughter of Blaine and Susan Rose.  

Emily Taylor is a member of the Meat Science 4-H Club.  Her projects include public speaking, safety, food science, fabric and fashions, community service and performing arts. This is Taylor’s second year to serve as an ambassador.  Emily is the daughter of Steve and Liz Taylor.  

Sara Thomas is a member of the Roff 4-H Club. Her projects include community service, performing arts, clothing and textiles and food science.  She is serving her first year as a 4-H Ambassador.  Thomas is the daughter of John and Teri Thomas.

Taylor Smith and Angel Wade were both selected to serve as teen ambassador advisors to the group.  Their responsibilities include providing training for junior ambassadors and to serve as a mentor and role model.
