It was another one of those cases where Ada police — using their deductive reasoning powers — turned a one-person driving under the influence case into a six-person drug bust of young adults.
Most of the activity took place in the 900 block of East Ninth early Monday morning, but it was a guest who left a party at the location — smashing into two cars on his way out — that attracted attention of the police.
Officers Dewayne Campbell and John Parker were assisting officer Jason Keck on a DUI call.
While detaining a motorist with dents in his car, Keck wondered if the subject had left the area without telling the owner of other vehicles he had crashed into.
Campbell and Parker agreed to go back to the home the driver had left to see if they could find any more recently dented automobiles.
They found two cars with fresh dents, prompting them to go to a couple of nearby houses. bCampbell noticed an odor of marijuana when a man came to the door. He asked one of the three renters at the house, Ryan Santos, if the subjects would allow him and Parker to come inside and take a look.
