VV celebrates volunteers and chaplains

Ada —

The Valley View Auxiliary Volunteers and Chaplains gathered on April 17 in the hospital classrooms for the annual awards and appreciation luncheon.

The theme of the event was the Rock ‘n Roll era of the 1950’s, and many volunteers were dressed in the styles of that period.  Following the welcome given by Auxiliary director Catharine Choate, hospital chaplain Donald Hoover offered the invocation.

A luncheon of burger baskets with trimmings and coke/root beer floats was served by VVRH staff, while musical entertainment was provided by the trio “Little Kenny and the Poodles,” and, of course, “Elvis.” Hospital CEO Kent Rogers expressed his appreciation on behalf of the hospital to those in attendance, and assisted Catharine in presenting the service awards.

Over the past year, the total service hours of volunteers and chaplains represent an equivalence of more than a dozen full-time employees to the hospital.
