Remains consisted of skull, spine, ribs

Ada —

Officials are still working to identify human remains found Saturday in Ada.

Police were called to a wooded area near the intersection of North Oak and J.A. Richardson Loop, where a man discovered the remains about 100 yards west of North Oak and 15 yards south of the loop.

“Located in that area was a skull, spinal cord and ribs,” Ada Police Officer Brad Rhoads said in a report. “There was a blanket approximately 10 yards north of the location of the body.”

Detectives sent the remains to the Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office in Oklahoma City for identification and a cause of death.

Officials have not said if they believe the remains to be that of a male or female.
