Ms. Senior Oklahoma 2011 Vickey Rose, Vinita, appears June 16 at McSwain Theatre with Jae L and Crossover Band.
Rose placed in the top 10 in the 2011 Ms. Senior America finals in Atlantic City, N.J. Her voice brought the audience to their feet when she sang At Last, a tune made famous by the late Etta James.
She has performed with such names as Little Jimmy Dickens and as a front for Jana Jay, Gene Watson and Mel McDaniel.
Rose has sung at the Oklahoma Opry, Las Vegas, Branson and for various events in Oklahoma, including the Diamond Ballroom, Graham Central Station, The Freedom Rodeo and in Palm Springs, Calif., this winter.
She is performing at the upcoming Ms. Senior Oklahoma Pageant held at the Rose State Performing Arts Center in Midwest City at 2 p.m. July 14. The event is free and open to the public. Darlyn Metz, former Miss Ada, was one of the five judges in 2011.
Vickie Reifsnider, East Central University professor and Act II president, will be one of the five judges this year.
