County OKs $3 million budget

Ada —

The Pontotoc County Commission approved on Monday a $3 million budget for fiscal year 2012-2013.

The spending plan is about $300,284 higher than the budget for 2011-12, when it was approximately $2.7 million.

Part of the reason for the budget increase is because the county’s assessed valuation rose this year. The assessed valuation was set at approximately $198.83 million, up from $189.46 million in 2011-2012.

Public service assessments dropped from approximately $33.41 million in 2011-2012 to approximately $32.73 million this year.
