ECU raises tuition, fees

Ada —

Instead of spending $10 on coffee or pizza, East Central University students may want to apply any extra money to their school fees this year.

ECU has raised its tuition and fees to offset a loss of state funding, according to information from the university. Undergraduates will pay $162.06 in tuition and mandatory fees per credit hour this school year, up from $153.61 in 2011-12. Graduate students will pay $197.10 per credit hour this year, up from $186.83 last year.

The increase will average $8.45 per credit hour for undergraduates and $10.47 per hour for graduate students.

College officials have worked to keep tuition and fees as low as possible, said ECU President John Hargrave.
