Ladies' breakfast set Feb. 16 at College Heights Baptist Church

ADA — College Heights Baptist Church invites all ladies interested in good food and Christian fellowship to join them Saturday, Feb. 16, for its monthly ladies' breakfast at 10 a.m.

Dr. Dennis Corle to speak at Ada Baptist Temple Feb. 17-20

ADA — Ada Baptist Temple begins its spring revival Sunday, Feb. 17, through Wednesday, Feb. 20. Evangelist Dr. Dennis Corle is the guest speaker.

Corle is editor of Revival Fires, a Christian periodical that has worldwide circulation. He is also a Bible preacher, teacher and author of numerous books and pamphlets.

Services are Sunday at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., and Monday-Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Pastors Mickey Hollars and Robert Eberle and the Ada Baptist Temple congregation invite the Ada community to these special services.

Church of God to host Bible study Feb. 27

ADA — United Church of God, publisher of The Good News Magazine, will be hosting a public Bible study titled "God’s Law: Is it Done Away?" Were the Ten Commandments nailed to the cross? What did Paul mean when he said Christ was the “end” of the law?

This free and informative Bible study will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 6:30 p.m. at Ada Public Library. Attend to learn the answer to these and other important questions. For more information, phone 405-833-5084.

 

United David Baker to speak at New Beginnings Church

STRATFORD — New Beginnings church hosts David A. Baker, evangelist, Feb. 17-20. He will be speaking Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., and Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening is a special night of healing.

New Beginnings Church is located two miles east of Stratford on state Highway 19.

Birthday gospel singing scheduled today in Ada

ADA — A birthday gospel singing for Louise Marrs is 6 p.m. to midnight Friday, Feb. 15, at Chickasaw Community Center, 700 N. Mississippi.

Singers include Al Brown and Co, Scrap Iron, The Trio and Jerry Sellers Family, all of Ada; Cornerstones of McAlester; and Jan and Virgil of Walters. Master of ceremonies is Henry James.

Supper begins at 5 p.m., and singing is at 6 p.m. Concessions open at 7:30 p.m. The event is open to the public.

Women’s Bible Study to meet at Grace Christian Fellowship

ADA — Grace Christian Fellowship announces W.I.N.G.S., which stands for Women in God’s Service, will be meeting every second Sunday of the month. The W.I.N.G.S. group is studying “Women of the Bible,” and Inell Cassell of Grace will be the first to lead the ministry time for the group.

Tupleo Full Gospel Assembly Church cancels gospel singing

TUPELO — Full Gospel Assembly Church at Tupelo has canceled its third Saturday night singing until further notice.

 

Local church offers home Bible studies for Bible questions

ADA — New Life Apostolic Church, pastored by M.D. Bates, welcomes Dan Lankford and family to its church family. Lankford's ministry includes outreach, evangelism and youth programs.

D.A. Bennett to speak at Lenten retreat Saturday

ADA — The Rev. D.A. Bennett is guest speaker at the Lenten retreat Saturday, Feb. 16, at First United Methodist Church, 129 W. 14th. The retreat is from 9 a.m. to noon, with a complimentary breakfast at 8 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Bennett is also preaching on Sunday morning at the 8:30 and 10:45 services. 

Bennett is a graduate of Oklahoma City University and Oral Roberts University. He preaches at conferences and retreats all over Oklahoma. He is senior pastor at St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City. 

He served as ECU United Campus minister for 12 years. 

Bennett has chosen his general theme "Fan or Follower," and his subtitles are "Define the Relationship," "Dead Men’s Bones" and “Decision Time." The Sunday sermon is "Bury the Dead."

The event is free and open to the public. Child care is available.

Asbury United Methodist hosts The WAY each Tuesday night

ADA — Asbury United Methodist Church's The WAY meets each Tuesday night at 6 p.m. It is a 12-step recovery meeting for adults, and there is also a Bible-based program for children. A meal is served after the meeting. The Christ-centered 12 steps can be applied to everyone’s life.
