Ada —
Family Crisis Center, Inc, a local women’s shelter serving the Ada area, received a $20,000 grant from The Mary Kay Foundation. In observation of Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October, The Mary Kay Foundation awards $20,000 grants to more than 150 domestic violence shelters across the country for a total of $3 million.
Family Crisis Center will use the grant to provide critical support for its Domestic Violence Shelter.
Center executive director Sharell Caton said, “This grant will be used to better the lives of women and children who have been victims of domestic violence. We have had cuts from other funding systems and this grant will allow us to continue our goal to stop the generational cycle of family violence.”
The Family Crisis Center provides a safe home for battered women and their children.
