New year's goals: Stay on track

Ada —  

Every December you make a list of goals for the coming year. You vow to stop smoking, lose weight, get in shape and pay down your debt.

By the middle of January, you’ve broken some of your resolutions and haven’t started on others. Discouraged, you decide to postpone your self-improvement plan.

Then Dec. 31 rolls around again, and you find yourself making yet another list of New Year’s resolutions.

So what steps can you take in 2013 to stay on track and improve your life?
