Janessa Jean Long and Joshua Michael Lawrence, both of Chapel Hill, N.C., are exchanging wedding vows June 16, 2012. Danny Franks is officiating at the 4 p.m. wedding ceremony at Fort Caswell in Oak Island, N.C.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Lonnie and Jan Long, Ada. She is the granddaughter of Bill and Janet Gibson, Ada, and Jean Long-Meek and the late Bill Long and Lavoid Meek. She was a 2003 graduate of Ada High School. In 2007 she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from East Central University in Family and Consumer Sciences Education and later received a Master of Science degree in Counselor Education from East Carolina University in 2010.
Parents of the future bridegroom are Michael and Janet Lawrence, Southport, N.C. He is the grandson of Al and Rosemary Lawrence, Madison, Ohio, and Patricia Burt, Painesville, Ohio. He is a 2005 graduate of South Brunswick High School and received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 2009 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is studying toward a Masters of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is employed at Reach UNC, a Christian ministry on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
A wedding reception will be held on July 21, from 2-4 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Ada, Oklahoma.
