Hot Springs, AR —
East Central University’s Jeff Weisheit fired a 3-under-par 70 and leads the inaugural Great American Conference Men’s Golf Championships after one round Sunday at the par-72 Hot Springs Country Club.
Weisheit’s effort helped fuel the Tigers to a second-place tie with a team score of 302. ECU is tied with Arkansas Tech and Southwestern Oklahoma State leads the field with a 297.
Weisheit had a 2-under 34 through the first nine holes before finishing with a 36 on the back.
Also for ECU, Bryeson Lance is tied with four others for second place after posting a 1-over 73. Lance’s nine-hole totals were 35-38.
The Tigers’ Dakota Robbins is in 25th place after recording a 7-over 79 (38-41). Teammates Brandon Herbison and Travis Arnold are tied for 28th and 34th respectively.
Herbison shot an 80 and Arnold registered an 82.
