The East Central University men’s tennis team came up short as Ouachita Baptist earned a 5-1 victory for the Great American Conference Championship on Saturday.
ECU’s No. 1 doubles team of Stefan Stein and Doyle Springett earned an 8-5 victory, but OBU secured both matches at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles while winning three singles matches at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 5.
ECU, which ended the season at 8-7, earned a trip to the GAC finals late Friday night with a 5-1 victory over Southeastern Oklahoma State.
Ouachita Baptist improved to 14-6 in claiming the title.
