East Central University business students and Dean Wendell Godwin will visit Southern Methodist University’s Edwin L. Cox School of Business May 16 as guests of Steven Denson (ECU ‘91, Carnegie Mellon ‘93). This will be the second year that Dean Godwin and ECU have made such a visit to the Cox School. This collaboration came about as Dean Godwin is an alumn of the Executive MBA Program of the Cox School, where Denson, an ECU alum and Chickasaw Nation citizen, teaches and works with outreach.
“We are excited to once again welcome the students of East Central’s School of Business, and hopeful that many will consider our graduate programs as they move on in their business careers,” said Denson.
After graduating from East Central in 1991, Denson went on to the University of Michigan and Carnegie Mllon University. He interned with congressman Bill Brewster and then worked for Dresser Rand in New York until returning briefly to Oklahoma to work for the Chickasaw Nation. Denson has taught int he business school’s undergraduate, graduate and executive educaiton programs at SMU since 1998.
In the fall of 2010, Denson donated a letter of Queen Victoria’s appointing a new quartermaster for the city of London to the Ada Arts and Heritage Center from his collection, Kathy Wellington, then the director of Ada Arts and Heritage Center, made the trip to Dalls to receive the donation, which hangs in the center.
