Pontotoc County Agri-plex Convention Center will become a colorful venue as the Pontotoc County Home & Community Education Association present “Get Carried Away” Quilt Show held Friday, April 27 and Saturday, April 28 in convention center of the Pontotoc County Agri-plex in Ada.
The show is open to the public and anyone who would like to enter a quilt may do so. To enter, bring your quilts to the Pontotoc County Agri-plex, 1700 N. Broadway, Ada on Wednesday, April 25, from 9 a.m. till 6 p.m. All judged quilts must be completed by the exhibitor in the past year. “For Show Only” quilts have no restrictions. Come show off your old quilts, new quilts, even quilts you received as a gift! Share the art, craftsmanship and colors with others.
Quilt show exhibits may be viewed on Friday, April 27, from 9 a.m. till 6 p.m. and on Saturday, April 28, from 9 a.m. till 4 p.m.
Demonstrations will be held throughout the quilt show with both local and visiting talent teaching various quilting skills. Dixie Pennington will be presenting Fake Piping Binding, Rilla Webb, 4 Patch Variety, Sally Bowers, 1⁄4” Seam Allowance, Carla Moon, Braided Quilt, Dee Ann Hodges, Grandma’s Garden. A complete list of demonstrations will be available at the show.
We will welcome several quilt vendors from across the state that will be featuring the latest in quilting fabrics and notions to sell during the two-day show.
A quilt will be given away the last day of the show. Chances are available through any OHCE member or will be available at the show.
The admission for the quilt show is $2.00 with all proceeds going to Pontotoc County Home and Community Education club projects such as scholarships, Special Olympics, Girls State, 4-H trips and various projects including the Agri-plex.
