Greg McCortney’s passion for hospice care started with his first job in the industry.
After college, McCortney served as pastor for a church in Norman. He later took a job as a hospice chaplain and realized he had found his real passion. That experience eventually led him to start McCortney Family Hospice with his wife, Ashley, in 2003.
Now, the mayor of Ada will use his knowledge and experience of hospice care to benefit Oklahoma’s hospice industry.
Gov. Mary Fallin recently appointed McCortney to the Oklahoma Hospice Advisory Board which is charged with developing and improving hospice care across the state. The board also recommends standards for the Oklahoma Department of Health and reviews enforcement of state hospice regulations.
