An Ada firefighter was arrested Friday by police who allege he and his wife fraudulently obtained funds from her family.
Jason Hamilton, 36, Asher, was arrested on suspicion of racketeering, according to court records. Hamilton and his wife, Holly Claudena Hamilton, 30, are accused of illegally taking money from National Livestock Credit Corporation, owned by Rick and Jennifer Campbell, Holly Hamilton’s parents. Warrants of uttering a forged instrument and racketeering were issued for Holly Hamilton Monday.
Ada Police detective Destry Musgrove said between Feb. 25, 2010 and Feb. 8, 2011, “there were 24 unauthorized transactions totaling $180,520.54 worth of funds deposited and or transferred electronically into Jason Hamilton’s bank account.
“The total amount of fraud against Rick and Jennifer Campbell’s financial accounts is in excess of $385,000 which was used to purchase items such as a house, cattle, feed, veterinary medical supplies and vehicles,” Musgrove said.
