Woman's death under investigation

An elder Francis woman was killed early this morning in what appears to be a hit and run accident. The woman was hit as she walked along County Road 1475 east of Oakman. A second driver hit her body after the initial accident and called authorities. She has been transported to the Oklahoma Medical Examiner's office in Oklahoma City and an investigation is planned. Pontotoc County authorities were at the scene. The News will provide more details as they become available.

ADA — A 2-year-old boy who disappeared Thursday afternoon apparently drowned in a neighbor’s swimming pool, according to Pontotoc County Sheriff John Christian.
